Gumjoy fuels up

In the UK the current price of regular unleaded is £0.949 per litre. In LA the price is $2.45 but that is per gallon. With 3.78 liters in gallon this makes one liter of fuel in LA to be $0.64. But wait that is still in US dollars. In pence that works out to be 42p per liter. So fuel is 55% cheaper in LA than London.

So thats the boring finances all out of the way. You might be wondering why Gumjoy made a video about fuel. The reason is simple. Gumjoy has never seen anything like this when filling up anywhere else in the world scroll down and watch our video. But first I have been criticised for being focused on women so I would like to show quickly why I focus on the Ladies. Women certainly make better models then men.

Gumjoy does Roni's

Roni's. Forget the food. Its all about the atmosphere. The food is good, but your meal comes with entertainment. The manager is a very likable person and provides ample entertainment whilst you dine. Best of all though is the price. This is the only reasonably priced restaurant I have found in Beverly Hills and whenever I am in LA I make sure to make stop here for Lunch.

Mondrian Hotel, West Hollywood, LA

Do yourself a favor and head to the nearby London Hotel, a newer, nicer, more hip and also more "affordable" alternative.

The Mondrian is your typical bad value for money so-called design hotel.
The staff are unprofessional given they charge upwards of USD$500.
The recent 'remodel' is a joke, it looks cheap. (see the video review below)
Further the rooms are noisy even on the 12th floor. People were running up and down the hotel corridors at 3am(they werent guests) just for the sole purpose of meeting other people. One guy knocked on my door at 3.47am asking if there was a party going on! When i said "not in here" he asked if i wanted to help him meet some 'bits'. He said he saw them get off on my floor and was going to go from room to room to meet these 'bits'. When i called down to reception to inform them of this they were not concerned. They thought i was just continuing my complaining. You see I called down three times already that night. First time for soap (they didnt put any soap in my room), second time because my remote didnt have batteries and third time because this scetchy man wasnt the first person to wake me up by running up and down the corridor.

Now other things which are a joke. The concierge is terrible. Dont ask them for advice. If you ask for advice on a good restaurant they tell you to only eat in the hotel. If you ask for a bar recommendation they tell you to go to Sky Bar (also within the hotel). So i went to Sky Bar, as a hotel guest you would think you would be allowed entry. As tried to enter, the door man told me to get to the back of the line! I said i was a hotel guest and he just shrugged his shoulders and pretty much laughed in my face. So i went back to the concierge and there was no one there. When he was there the next day he was even less helpful than the day before

Next is the parking. Valet park your car over night and it will cost you $32.

Forget this hotel.
Stay in the London which is about a mile away or the Andaz hotel accross the road.

AVOID the mondrian. and if you do decide to make a reservation at any hotel or make a flight reservation USE lastminute.com of all the websites I have used. They are the best and they have great offers.

See for yourself:

The Regent Beverly Wilshire Hotel, Los Angels

This hotel was made famous by the movie "pretty women". In regards to the movie there is nothing in common between the movie and the real hotel except for the seat in the lift.

The Regent Beverly Wilshire is located in the heart of Beverly Hills. Just across the street from the world famous Rodeo Drive and a stones throw away from pretty much everything else you might need in LA. If you want to go further than walking distance the Beverly Wilshire's Rollys Royce Phantom (their house car) is more than willing to drive you within a five mile radius free of charge.

The concierge was exceptional. He was on the ball with everything.

The Hotel itself was not the most romantic or charismatic of hotels, however the standard of service was excellent. The hotel is definatelly one of the grandest hotels of choice with many celebrates opting to stay here. During my stay i noticed Pierce Morgan hanging by the pool.

All in all the hotel is fantastic. The rooms however are a little dull. The colors are your typical pale white and browns.

But i cant complain.

I would strongly recommend you bite the bullet in regards to the cost and stay a few days.
Also forgetting eating within the hotel unless you are a millionaire, walk down the road to Roni's.
